My New Garden

I wouldn't be able to choose between my art and my garden. To me, my garden is my muse. I can become lost on my way to the mailbox. I can spend hours picking tiny weedes from the moss beds. It is the place I refill my well.

When you are over 50 and you feel like painting your bench purple, just do it. You've earned the right to sit on a bench of any color you want.

The Gardens
I decided to use this hand to offer the birds special treats. Hopefully they will be more inclined to feed from my hand like they do at my Dad's house.
Little nooks and crannies with tiny violets, driftwood and lots of shade loving plants surround the new fire pit. I love my shade areas and I was lucky to be able to move all of my plants from the old yard. All are thriving!
I have started a small meadow for the birds and butterflies. It is great to have sunny areas to play in. I am slowly getting rid of all the grass so no mowing will be necessary in the back.
More sunny areas aloong the path to the shadey fire pit area.

My gardens have come a long way since last September. I can't imagine what they will look like in a few years when they fill in. I've planted all perinials, grasses, ferns, hostas, hydrangas, etc.

It is early spring as I write this. I will take more pictures as things develop and bloom.
